Ugo La Malfa

Ugo La Malfa ( born May 16, 1903 in Palermo, † March 26, 1979 in Rome ) was an Italian politician of the Partito Repubblicano Italiano.

Life

La Malfa studied at the University of Venice, where he arrived in Treviso in contact with the republican movement. In 1924 he went to Rome, where he supported the anti-fascist opposition and a member of the Action Party ( Partito d' Azione ) was. In 1943 he fled to Switzerland. After the Second World War he was a member of the Constituent Assembly in Rome and in 1945 it was briefly Minister of Transport of Italy. La Malfa was a member of the Partito Repubblicano Italiano and led the party from April 1965 to February 1975. As a parliamentarian, he was represented later in the Camera dei deputati. In 1963 he was budget minister in the Cabinet of amine gates Fanfani. From July 7, 1973 to March 14, 1974, he was in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Mariano Rumor treasure. From March to August 1979, he was Minister in the Cabinet of Giulio Andreotti.

La Malfa was married; his son Giorgio, like his father worked as a politician. He died of an intracerebral hemorrhage.
