Uhersko

Uhersko is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is situated 18 kilometers southeast of the center of Pardubice and belongs to Okres Pardubice.

Geography

Uhersko is located in the west of Chotzener panel on the right bank of the Loučná. In the northeast of the forest Boršov lies with the pond Lodrant and the gamekeeper's house Neulust. South of the town runs on the left side of the Loučná the rail link Česká Třebová - Prague, on the Uhersko has a railway station.

Neighboring towns are Litětiny in the north, Trusnov in the northeast, Zika and Sedlíšťka in the east, in the southeast Opočno, Ostrov and Městec in the south, Turov and Čeradice in the west and Horni Roveň in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village dates from the year 1308.

1704, the church was built. In the 19th century the writer Alois Jirásek lived in Uhersko and described life in the village in parts of his novels V cizích službách (1885 ) and Z cest mladých. In the 1920s, the painter and graphic artist Alois Mudruňka designed at the municipal office, the gym, butchers and other buildings sgraffito that his nephew Čestmír Mudruňka restored in 1998.
