Ringlikon is a municipality in the district of Dietikon the canton of Zurich in Switzerland.

The community name Ringlikon is a linguistic curiosity. Because it is pronounced by the locals as Üdike. On March 30, 1951, the Municipal Assembly has decided that the official place name will remain unchanged, although they sound similar Witikon or Uetikon.

Ringlikon is in the lower Reppischtal at the transition into the Limmat Valley, on the western edge of the Uetliberg. Regarding workplaces, business activities, due to the excellent public transport and the cultural offer Ringlikon is aligned with the adjacent town of Zurich.

History

Ringlikon is composed of the parts Ringlikon, Waldegg and Ringlikon. Ringlikon was until 1917 a separate civil parish. The topographically induced threefold division is further supported by the road over the Waldegg. This arterial road from Zurich is one of the busiest main roads in Canton area.

Just south of the village center Ringlikon situated on a hill, the former residence of the Court gentlemen of Ringlikon and low - Oberurdorf.
