Ukrainian Falcons

The Ukrainian Falcons (Ukrainian: Українські Соколи / Ukrayins ' ki Sokoły; German to Ukrainian Falcons ) is the official aerobatic team of the Ukrainian armed forces.

The squadron was formed in 1995, the first training flights began in 1996. In 1997, the international debut at the British Air Show Royal International Air Tattoo was done. There are machines of the MiG -29, Su -27 and Aero L -39 Albatros used. The squadron is stationed at an airfield in the Crimea south of Kirowske (position ) in the same Rajon.

Tragic became famous aerobatics team in 2002, when on 27 July, a Sukhoi Su- 27 of the Ukrainian Falcons crashed on the Ukrainian military airfield near Lviv Sknyliw into the crowd. The air show accident in Lviv is regarded as the most serious aviation accident in aerobatics. 85 people were killed. The two pilots managed to escape with the ejection seat. As part of the legal fight against the two pilots were found guilty and sentenced to long prison sentences.
