Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain

The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is a comedic musical group, ukuleles in different registers and an acoustic bass guitar (the band took to calling them as a bass ukulele ) play.

History

Originally established in 1985 for a one-time appearance, the orchestra played since world in different places, on different occasions, such as the Royal Festival Hall or on the Glastonbury Festival.

The Orchestra entered the world on television. An appearance in the TIPI at the chancellery of the Bar jeder Vernunft was recorded by ZDF in 2007 and broadcast on 3sat and the ZDFtheaterkanal. Members were commissioned to write the music for two episodes of The South Bank Show and take.

The orchestra played in television shows such as Tomorrow 's World, Blue Peter, The Slammer, Richard and Judy and This Morning and other shows on British television. The albums include Precious Little, The Secret of Life, Top Notch, and the recording of a concert from 2005 under the title Anarchy in the ukulele, it was recorded at the Barbican Centre in London.

Their cover version of Ms. Dynamite Dy -Na -Mi -Tee, sung by Hester Goodman, 2005 it reached number 81 in the UK singles chart. On the single are also a cover version of Aretha Franklin's ( You Make Me Feel Like ) A Natural Woman, sung by George Hinchliffe and the ukulele version of the instrumental piece Wonderful Land.
