Ulch people

The Ultschen ( Russian: ульчи, proper names Ultscha, Nani ) are an indigenous people of the Russian Far East. In the 2002 census reported 2913 inhabitants, belonging to the nationality of the Ultschen.

The ultschische language belongs to the family of the Tungusic languages.

Most Ultschen live in Ultschski rayon, a rural raion in Khabarovsk on the Amur River. Therefore, fishing is the main income and food source.
