Ulen [ ju ː lən ] is a small town ( with a status of "City" ) in Clay County in northwestern U.S. state of Minnesota. In 2010 Ulen had 547 inhabitants.

Ulen is part of the Fargo - Moorhead Metropolitan Area.

Geography

Ulen is located approximately 30 km east of the border with North Dakota on the southern arm of the Wild Rice River, a right tributary of the Red River of the North. The town is located at 47 ° 04'42 " north latitude, 96 ° 15'36 " west longitude and extends over 2.8 km ².

Neighbouring places of Ulen are Syre (11,6 km to the north ), Hitterdal (11,3 km south) and Felton (19,4 km west ).

The main street of the Minnesota State Route 32 leads in a north-south direction through the Stadtzgebiet of Ulen. All other roads are subordinate and partly unpaved roadways and within local roads.

In Ulen is the northern end of a branch line of the BNSF Railway, the second largest railway company in the country.
