Ulf Isaksson

Ulf Isaksson ( born March 19, 1954 in Norfunda, † 26 December 2003 ) was a Swedish professional ice hockey player who played in his playing days from 1973 to 1988 among others for the Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League.

Career

Ulf Isaksson began his career as a hockey player with AIK Solna, for the first team, he was active from 1973 to 1982 - first in Division 1 and from the 1975/76 season in the Elitserien newly established. In the seasons 1977/78 and 1980/81 the winger with AIK was runner before he and his team won in the 1981/82 season in his third finals for the first time the Swedish championship title. In 1982 he was also elected to the Swedish World All- Star team.

In 1982 NHL Entry Draft, he was selected in the fifth round as the 95th overall player of the Los Angeles Kings, for those in the National Hockey League, he scored seven goals and 15 assists in the 1982/83 season in 50 games. In parallel, he was in 16 games for the farm team of the Kings, the New Haven Nighthawks of the American Hockey League on the ice. From 1983 to 1985, he again played for AIK and was with the team in the season 1983/84 for the second time champion. From 1985 to 1988 he was last on the Arlanda Wings, for which he took up in the third and second division in Sweden.

Internationally

For Sweden Isaksson took part in the World Championships in 1981 and 1982 as well as 1981 at the Canada Cup. His greatest success with the national team was winning the silver medal at the World Championships in 1981.
