Uli Forte

Forte is an Italian citizen, but was born and raised as " Secondo " in Brüttisellen. He completed his entire school and university in the canton of Zurich ( secondary school in Brüttisellen, High School Type D in Winterthur In Lee, business studies finance at the University of Zurich ).

Player

As a footballer, he started his career at FC Brüttisellen, where he went through all junior levels up to individual operations in the former National League B team. In the summer of 1994 he moved to FC Red Star Zurich, where he worked for five years as a player. In the summer of 1999, he moved back into the National League B for SC Kriens, where he spent three years.

Coach

In the spring of 2002, he began his coaching career ( player-coach ) back at FC Red Star Zurich in the second league Interregional, which he led back to the first league after a year and in the following years with the team in the ascendancy rounds of Challenge League narrowly failed. In the summer of 2006, he got the offer from FC Wil 1900 to enter as a coach in professional football, where he surprisingly in the first season reached the semifinals of the Swisscom Cup with the team. Therefore was also awarded the " Swisscom Cup Team of the Year 2007 " at the Swiss Football Night in Bern. In the second season he reached with FC Wil 1900 the outstanding 3rd final rank, so two points for direct ascent and a point to Barrage in the Axpo Super League were missing. From the 08/ 09 season he was at FC St. Gallen on the sidelines and led the " aspen " in the same year back in the Axpo Super League. The contract was extended early in December 2009 to the 2011/12 season. After the 0-1 home defeat on 27 February 2011 against Thun Uli Forte as coach of FC St. Gallen was released on 1 March 2011 after exactly 1,000 days in office with immediate effect. On 16 April 2012, the Grasshopper Club Zurich announced that he would replace the previously retired coach Ciriaco Sforza. He conducted the same evening already training the first team .. He celebrated already in his first season the Cup victory and 2nd place in the league. On June 1, 2013 it was announced that Forte after the end of season 2012/ 2013, the BSC Young Boys will take over.
