Ulises Rosales del Toro

Ulises Rosales del Toro (* March 8, 1942 in Oriente ) is a Cuban politician and Major General of the Communist Party of Cuba, which is since 2009 Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers.

Life

Rosales del Toro joined after schooling undertaken by Fidel Castro 's July 26 Movement. In the following years he took part in the revolution against the dictatorial President Fulgencio Batista. After the fall of Bautista in 1959, he joined as an officer into the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias (FAR ) and completed his training at the General Staff School ( Enseñanza Superior Militar ).

Rosales del Toro, in 1962 a member of the United Party of the Socialist Revolution ( Partido Unido de la Revolución Socialista de Cuba ) and 1965 of the emerging Communist Party, was appointed to the 1960s to the Major and 1967 deputy of Major Arnaldo Ochoa as this was sent on a secret mission to Venezuela to support the rebels there, but ended with a strategic defeat and the loss of many human lives.

In the following years he studied military science at various military training facilities in the Soviet Union and took 1975 and 1976 on the second use of the FAR in Angola in part. Rosales del Toro, in 1975, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party ( Partido Comunista de Cuba ), was there last was in 1976 head of the military units in southern Angola. After 1986 he was member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the PCC, he was promoted to major general in 1989 and First Vice- Minister of Defense and continued to practice from the office of the Chief of the General Staff of the FAR.

In 1997 he took over as successor to Nelson Torres Pérez, the most important office of the sugar Minister ( Ministro del Azucar ) and has held this position until 2009. 2008, he was the successor of María del Carmen Pérez as Agriculture Minister ( Ministro de Agricultura ), while Luis Manuel Ávila Cruz new sugar Minister been. Rosales del Toro handed the office of the Minister of Agriculture in 2010 to Gustavo Rodríguez Rollero and is also also a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and Member of the National Assembly ( Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular).
