Ullern

Ullern is a western district of the Norwegian capital Oslo. He has 28 898 inhabitants (2008 ) and an area of 9.4 km ². Ullern was initially a community in Aker (1906 ), it was incorporated into Oslo in 1948. The original name Ullerns goes back to a farm from the 14th century. In Ullern the artists' colony Ekely lies with the winter studio of the painter Edvard Munch. Also located in the center of the district the Ullern was built in 1904 kirke.
