Ea consulted Enlil, who shows him where he could find the mythical sickle made of copper, with the former heaven and earth were separated. With the help of the wise Ea succeeds Ullikummi to plunge again by cutting off and destroying his feet with this sickle. Teššub found again the power and dominion over the earth.

The whole myth is connected with a spring festival, which is the new rule of Teššub.

Parallels

In the comparable legend of Zeus and Typhon Zeus crashes a huge mountain over Typhon, who is now trapped under disem ( Etna ) and occasionally the earth brings to the quake because he muses angry revenge. Interestingly, Kronos is represented by the attribute of a sickle.

The story also has parallels to Loki's imprisonment and Persian literature Shahnameh, where the villain is trapped in the crater of Mount Damavand. That speaks for successful dissemination of the myth during the reign of the Hittites.
