Geology

Bundeswehr location

Elm was the site of the Eifel Maar barracks. After it was revealed that, contrary to previous election promises of the then Defence Minister Volker Ruhe (CDU ), the whole barracks is closed, the largest demonstration took place in the history Ulmen place: On 20 March 1995, some 3,000 participants moved to a torchlight procession from the community hall to the barracks.
