Ulrich Boner

Ulrich Boner was a Dominican in Bern and author of the story collection " The Gem ". Boners life data are not identifiable, it is proven in documents 1324-1349; as the birth year is given often in 1280. In the collection "The Gem ," which he dedicated to the Bernese patrician John of Ringgenberg, he told in one hundred altschweizer dialect from Latin sources ( Avianus and Anonymous of Nevelet ) scooped Fables ( bispel ). The oldest surviving printed copy of the work from the year 1461 is preserved in the Herzog August Library in Wolfenbüttel. It was made in Albrecht Pfister in Bamberg printing and is the first work in the German language, which was printed with movable type, and also the first known illustrated with woodcuts printing unit.
