Ulrich Kienzle

Ulrich Kienzle ( born May 9, 1936 in Neckargröningen / district of Ludwigsburg, today Remseck ) is a German journalist, publicist and Middle East expert.

Career

After studying political science in Munich and Tübingen ( more subjects German and Art History) began Kienzle 1963 as a television editor for the Evening show at the South German Radio (SDR ), whose chief he was in 1968 after a trip to the West German Radio (WDR). He also served from 1972 to 1974 as editor and presenter for the broadcast together with the BR abroad Magazine compass. Another change brought Ulrich Kienzle until 1980 ARD and there as a correspondent for Arabia and southern Africa to the Middle East. As a correspondent in Arabia he was one of the few Western journalists to Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein interview.

From 1980 to 1990 Kienzle was television editor in chief of Radio Bremen. He developed the still-existing format butene & inland. To this end, he said on 1 September 2010 at Nordwestradio to his former editors: "I invited all who were frustrated by the public television. " From there he moved to ZDF, where he was head of the editorial foreign policy, and, among other the auslandsjournal moderated. In 1993 he took along with Bodo H. Hauser moderating the political magazine Frontal. Since 2003 he has represented in the ZDF program WISO with our driving with Kienzle.

In 2004 he was awarded the Journalism Prize of the German middle class.
