Ulrich Stuhler

Ulrich Stuhler is a German mathematician.

Life

Stuhler was 1970 when Martin Kneser his doctorate at the University of Göttingen ( conjugacy unipotent elements in simple algebraic groups of type and G2). From 1980 he was professor at the Polytechnic Wuppertal and since October 1993 a professor at the University of Göttingen. Stuhler deals with the arithmetic geometry, cohomology of arithmetic groups, Drinfeld modules, representation theory of p- adic groups and p- adic uniformization (where it partially worked with Peter Schneider).

In 1992 he proved with Gérard Laumon and Michael Rapoport the Langlands conjecture in the local case for function body ( Inventiones Mathematicae 1993).
