Ulrich Thein

Ulrich Thein ( born April 7, 1930 in Braunschweig, † 21 June 1995 in Berlin) was a German actor, director, screenwriter, synchronous and radio speaker.

Biography

The son of a theater Kapellmeister grew up under severe conditions. His father died when Ulrich was four years old, and his mother Else Thein had the family ( Thein had two older brothers ) diet alone. After high school studied Thein music (harp, piano), by the way he took acting lessons and got an engagement at the Staatstheater Braunschweig. In 1951 he moved to the GDR and got his first roles as the youngest member of the Deutsches Theater in Berlin, where he remained until 1963. He also played at the Berlin theater of friendship (now the Theater an der Parkaue ) and then was actor and director in the theater of the miners in Senftenberg.

Since 1952, he has played numerous leading roles in films by Martin Hellberg, Gerhard Klein, Günter Reisch, Frank Beyer and Konrad Wolf.
