Ulrichsberg

Ulrich Berg is a market town in Upper Austria in the district of Rohrbach in Upper Austria upper with 2900 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Rohrbach.

Geography

Ulrich Berg is located at 626 meters altitude in the upper Upper Austria in the valley of the Great Muehl at the Bohemian Forest. The extension is from north to south 12.2 kilometers, 10.3 kilometers from west to east. The total area is 57 km ². 51.8 % of the area is forested, 44.7 % of the area is used for agriculture.

Quarters are: Berdetschlag, Dietrichschlag, Erlet, Fuchslug, Hintenberg, Kandlschlag, Lichtenberg, Muehlwald, Öden churches, Salnau, Schindlau, Seitelschlag, Stangl, Stollnberg, Ulrich Berg, Belpiano and Zaglau.

In Belpiano a border crossing to the Czech Republic (only for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes)

Blazon: Humiliated divided; Up In Blue from the dividing line growing and forward swept St. Ulrich in the episcopal vestments, in his left hand a golden crosier with silver Fachel holding the rights outstretched in blessing; split down of silver and black with two obliquely crossed hammers in reversed colors.

History

Originally under the suzerainty of the Bishops of Passau, 1325, first documented place during the Napoleonic Wars was repeatedly inter alia, occupied by Bavaria. Since 1814, the place is definitely a thing to Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the town belonged to the " Upper Danube ". After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria. Ulrich mountain was in 1850 part of the judicial district of Aigen. 2003, the district court Aigen was dissolved and assigned the community the jurisdiction Rohrbach.

Policy

Mayor Wilfried Kellermann of the ÖVP. The distribution of seats in the municipal council is ÖVP (15 seats), Social Democratic Party (5 seats), Freedom Party (2 seats), ALU ( Other List Ulrich Berg) (3 seats).

Population Development

In 1991, the municipality had 3111 inhabitants according to the census, in 2001 then 3073 inhabitants.

Culture and sights

  • Moldaublick: Lookout overlooking the Vltava River Reservoir.
  • Alps view: lookout tower with views of the Upper Austria, with good view to the Alps.
  • Obernhof or Michael's Chapel: a central structure - a circular building designed with a small porch in 1694 by the famous Italian architect Carlo Antonio Carlone ( who also designed the plans for the redesign of some Upper Austrian pins ), completed in 1696. One of the oldest and most beautiful chapels in the upper Mühlviertel. The chapel is located in the district Stollnberg front of No. 9
  • Home and cultural house Ulrich Berg: et al with a flat bar ( weaving ) and a glass museum, located next to the church
  • Jazzatelier Ulrich Berg: Founded in 1973, the club has since 1986 a private house in Ulrich mountain. There are jazz concerts, the International Music Festival Ulrich Kaleidophon, film screenings and exhibitions.

Regular events

  • Ulrich Berger Kalaidophon: the International Music Festival is held annually in Jazzatelier Ulrich mountain.
  • Bohemian Forest Fair: Held every odd year (eg 2013) on the first weekend in August.
