Ulrike Klotz

Ulrike Klotz (born 15 November 1970 in Cottbus ) is a former German gymnast devices. Your home club was the SC Dynamo Berlin.

Ulrike Klotz began together with Dagmar Kersten at school in Cottbus gymnastics. With ten years both changed into Turn boarding school in Berlin. 1981 and 1983 won Ulrike Klotz in Spartakiade in the floor exercise. In 1985, she won her only East German championship title on the ground. At the World Championships 1985 in Montreal, Ulrike Klotz erturnte two bronze medals. In the team competition it was with the crew of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) behind the squads from the Soviet Union and Romania, in the floor exercise, she placed behind the two Soviet gymnasts Oksana Omeliantschik and Jelena Schuschunowa. To date, Ulrike Klotz is the only German gymnast who won world championships in the floor finals ever a medal. Two years later at the 1987 World Championships in Rotterdam, they again received bronze in the team competition. On the balance beam she finished fifth in the all around and she was eighth.

At the 1988 Olympic Games Ulrike Klotz finished with the East German team to third place and came eleventh in the individual competition of the multi- battle. She reached the apparatus finals on balance beam, finishing in eighth place. In the same year she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze.
