Ulstein

Ulstein is a municipality in the Norwegian Fylke Møre og Romsdal. The administrative center of the municipality is Ulsteinvik.

Geography

Ulstein is partly due, together with the municipality Hareid, on the 166 km ² island Hareidlandet. Another large island is Dimnøy with 9 square kilometers. The municipality with its up to 99 meters high cliff bordered to the northwest by the Atlantic Ocean and stretches from north to south over the Rovdefjorden 23.7 km ( land only 22.5 km ) and east to west across the Breidsundet to 11, 4 km ( land only 11.1 kilometers ) from. The population density is 82 inhabitants per square kilometer.

Neighboring municipalities of Ulstein are Giske, Hareid, Herøy Ørsta and Volda.

Economy

The largest employers in the community are Rolls- Royce, the Ulstein Værft and Kleven Verft.
