Ultrix

ULTRIX (including Digital Unix ) is a Unix variant for the VAX and DECstation and DECsystem - computer families of Digital Equipment Corporation ( DEC), which was first published in 1982.

History

ULTRIX -32

At the beginning of 1984, DEC announced the new ULTRIX - 32 for the VAX to. This version was published in June based on 4.2BSD, but was added later to Release 2 features of 4.3BSD and System V Unix.

From 1986 Operating System Version 1.2 was the new VAX 8650 and VAXstation II workstation supported by ULTRIX -32.

ULTRIX -11

The first version of this product was still called V7M -11 V1.0, which was based on UNIX 7th Edition. In 1984, the new version V2.0 was introduced as ULTRIX -11 for the computers of the Micro/PDP11- and PDP - 11 series. 1986 was followed by version 3.0.

The latest version of Ultrix was version 4.5 in November 1995.
