Ulytau

Ulytau is a folk metal trio from Kazakhstan. Their music combines instruments like violin and the traditional Dombra with electric guitars.

The band's name comes from the Kazakh Ulytau and means " Big Mountain".

History

Ulytau was founded in 2001 by producer Kydyrali Bolmanov, with the idea of ​​combining Western and Eastern music. So pieces of Qurmanghazy, Antonio Vivaldi, Niccolò Paganini and Johann Sebastian Bach are shuffled with electronic and classical instruments. The group had several appearances around the world, for example in Germany, England, Scotland, Poland, USA, Turkey, China, Japan and Russia. The band was formed in 2001 with the " Golden Disc " award for her song " Aday " that was based on a composition of Sagyrbayuly. Their debut album " Jumyr - Kylysh " was released 2006. 2009 appeared the album under the name "Two Warriors" in Germany.
