UMMC Ekaterinburg

The UMMC Ekaterinburg (Russian УГМК Екатеринбург ) is a professional women's basketball club of the Super League Russia. The association comes from Yekaterinburg, formerly Sverdlovsk, Russia.

History

In 1938, at the Uralmash ( factory Heavy machinery in the Urals ) factory was founded a women's basketball team. First, the club got the name " Zenit", 1958 it was renamed in " Trud " and got 1960 the name " Uralmash ", which he wore until 2000. The team was relegated in 1964 to the highest Soviet League and played there until the end. The greatest successes in Soviet times were two third places at the Soviet Championships in 1973 and 1974.
