UMshwathi Local Municipality

UMshwathi (also uMshwati, Eng. uMshwathi Local Municipality ) is a town in South Africa's District uMgungundlovu in the province of KwaZulu -Natal. The administrative center of the municipality is located in Wartburg. Marshal Gwala is the mayor. The IFP represents the majority in the City Council.

The name of the village comes from the uMshwati River, which flows through the community. 2007, the municipality had 113 054 inhabitants according to projections. It covers an area of 1818 square kilometers.

Geography

History
