Un passo dal cielo (on German about "Just a step up to the sky " ) is an Italian television series. It is manufactured by Lux Vide S.p.A. produced in collaboration with Rai Fiction. The series runs on Rai 1 and Rai HD.

Overview

The forester and commander of the Corps of Foresters of the community of San Candido, Pietro is the focus of the series. Innichen is part of the nature park three pinnacles in Alta Pusteria in South Tyrol. Un passo dal cielo was the first television series that was broadcast in Italy in HD was supported ( in Rai HD) and is the first project of the " South Tyrolean film promotion " Business Location Südtirol / Alto Adige ( BLS). The first season was filmed and directed by Enrico Oldoni. Riccardo Donna is the director of the second season. The film music was composed by Pino Donaggio.

Action

The series is about the forester Pietro, played by Terence Hill. Pietro is a very good climber who climbs on the most difficult peaks. Pietro lost his wife tragically on a rock wall and since the accident he lives withdrawn directly on Braies. In the forest home of the Forestry Corps and the local police station is housed. With the start of the series, a new police commissioner is put into the station. It is the Neapolitan Inspector Nappi which strikes as a man of the city for him new challenges in Alta Pusteria. Due to the proximity of the police and the Forestry Corps in the same building Pietro is always involved in the crimes to the police. Inspector Nappi is confronted with nature that was in Naples far away for him in return. Colleague and friend of Pietro is the former lumberjack Felicino Scotto, called " Roccia " ( rock ). The sister of Roccia is Assunta, she is played by Katia Ricciarelli, which is internationally known as a soprano.

Production

The originally intended name for the series was " L' uomo dei boschi " ( German for " The Man of the woods "). All persons of the series to speak Italian accent, even though 85 % of the population of San Candido have indicated German as their mother tongue, so that the series seems less authentic.

The first season of 12 episodes was produced in 2010 and sent in the spring of 2011. The series ran for six Sundays during the main evening program ( two episodes each were directly sent consecutively ). The series was viewed by an average of 5.9 million viewers. So they had the best ratings. In May 2011, has already ruled on the production of a second season. The first season was repeated in July 2012 during the main evening program at Rai 1. The second season is sent since October 14, 2012 and consists of 16 episodes, which are sent to 8 nights.

On the fact that German is spoken mainly in the area, the series refers time and again. For example, Inspector Nappi says in the episode " L' ape regina " a few words in German with Pietro. For the second season was planned that more regional references occur. The production makes sure that the family names that are used in the series, actually occur in the area of Innichen. In winter, recordings were made from Krampus parades. All labels on the City Hall of San Candido, the forester's house, the police vehicles, etc. are as usual in South Tyrol, mounted in German and Italian.
