UN Watch

UN Watch is a non-governmental organization, founded in 1993, the activities and decisions of the UN critically examined. It has its headquarters in Geneva. The meeting was chaired initially former U.S. representative to the United Nations, Morris B. Abram. Today, UN Watch is the former U.S. ambassador and special envoy to Europe, Alfred H. Moses, honorary president of the American Jewish Committee ( AJC ), out. Managing Director Hillel Neuer is. UN Watch is connected to the American Jewish Committee.

UN Watch is committed to maintaining a reform of the UN, equality within the UN as well as equal treatment of Member States. UN Watch looks for years a disproportionate and unfair treatment of Israel, which violated the fundamental principles of the UN Charter.

UN Watch supplies various UN bodies ( UN Human Rights Council UN Human Rights Commission and others) with opinions and articles published in media with large circulations. Other non-governmental organizations are invited to join the explanations.

The organization accused the UN Sub-Commission on Promotion and Protection of Human Rights of the mandate exceeded, as this had condemned Israel for human rights violations in the 2006 Lebanon War. Jean Ziegler, the UN special envoy for the right to food, the mandate exceeded was accused because of a violation by Israel of justice, in the occupation of the Palestinian territories to food.

UN Watch stimulates email actions like covering letter to UN officials regarding Hezbollah, Holocaust denial in Iran and anti-Semitic / anti-Christian textbooks in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
