Unai Emery

Unai Emery Etxegoien ( born November 3, 1971 in Fuenterrabía, Guipúzcoa ) is a Spanish football coach. Prior to his coaching career Emery played among others in the Spanish second division.

Biography

Emery comes from a family of goalkeepers from the Basque Fuenterrabía and is the grandson of Pajarito Emery ( " little bird " Emery ). That was in the 20s and 30s, the legendary goalkeeper of Real Unión Irun and twice won the Copa del Rey. His father was a professional goalkeeper for Deportivo La Coruña and Recreativo Huelva. One of his uncles was goalkeeper for CD Logrones and Real Unión.

Unai Emery played mediocre football and was in the Segunda División mainly, second highest Spanish league, and in Segunda División B, the third- highest division, works.

Career as a coach
