The Undefeated is an American Western directed by Cecil B. DeMille in 1947 with Gary Cooper and Paulette Goddard in the lead roles.
Action
Abby Hale is sentenced innocent in England. You have to go as a slave in the American colonies. On the ship she meets Captain Christopher Holden know. Upon arrival, it comes up for auction, in which Holden and the seedy Martin Garth outdo each other. Holden can freely buy and finally releases them into the wild.
Garth, however, does not give up and taken Abby to the boundary of the populated West. Garth is fur traders and gives the Indians illegal weapons, so that they expel the settlers, and he can thus bring the fur market under his control. Holden is on his heels, but can not prove anything.

For the main actor Gary Cooper it was the last film for Paramount and after the hero of the prairie, The Scarlet Rider and Dr. Wassells escape from Java, the fourth and final collaboration with the director Cecil B. DeMille. With Paulette Goddard, he worked already in the scarlet riders. The production costs amounted to an estimated five million U.S. dollars. For the elaborate crowd scenes not less than a thousand extras were summoned.
The Paramount brought the film in 1951 to the West German cinemas. In this modern common Gary Cooper was dubbed the voice of Peter Pasetti.
