UNESCO-IHE

The UNESCO -IHE ( Institute for Hydrological Education, Institute for Water Education ) is an institute of UNESCO, organized education and training to all subject areas around water and water supplies worldwide. It has its headquarters in the Dutch city of Delft.

The Institute was formally established at the 31st General Conference of UNESCO on 5 November 2001 and in 2003 took up its duties. It employs 166 permanent employees and more than 350 freelance lecturers. Until now (2008 ) have completed around 15,000 people training at the IHE. The world recognized qualifications ranging from postgraduate certificates up to the attainment of a doctoral degree ( in collaboration with various universities).
