Ungmennafélagið Víkingur

UMF Víkingur ( Ungmennafélagid Víkingur ) is an Icelandic sports club from Ólafsvík.

History

The club was founded in 1928. Most of the time he played in the minor leagues Islands. After a merger with other smaller teams of the Snæfellsnes peninsula in 2002, the club get some sporting success. From the fourth division of the walkover in League 2, from which it descended again but after 2 years followed. 2010 succeeded in re- rise and two years later in 2012, the club reached with a second place promotion to the first class Pepsideild and thus the biggest sporting success of the club's history.
