Band History
1999-2005
The Graf Unheilig founded in 1999 together with Grant Stevens and José Alvarez- Brill. In the same year, the single was Sage Yes! published, the debut album was followed by phosphorus with a musical blend of electronic and rock in February 2001.
2001 hosted the band on several big festivals and open -air concerts such as the Zillo Open Air, Wave- Gotik-Treffen, the Doomsday Festival and the Woods Day Summer Open Air On 28 October 2002, the album was released Merry Christmas, on the classic German Christmas carols are interpreted.
End of 2002, The Count separated due to differences of the other band members, the producer and the record company; he decided to continue as a solo artist. First produced Count the music of Unholy as a singer, songwriter and producer in a person. For live performances he returned to guest musicians. The third studio album The second bid was published on 7 April 2003. Fans were able to vote on it, should be decoupled which song of the album and produced an EP version on the Internet. Celluloid, the fourth album from Unholy was released in late February 2004. A tour of Germany with the band Terminal Choice followed. Again, was released after a vote with freedom in October 2004 an EP.
From recordings of concerts, the live double album stint was published on 31 January 2005. In the same year appeared a DVD with concert footage, music videos and interviews.
2006-2008
On 20 January 2006, the fifth studio album by Unheilig was released with Modern Times. The concept of the song lyrics are dreams and their realization. EP Astronaut decoupled - As with the previous albums - the result of a survey in June 2006. On the EP and the previously unknown song was released The sky above me. In this The Count expresses his religiousness and simultaneous rejection of the Church and shall specify the grounds of his " Unheiligseins ".
From late September to mid- October 2006 Unholy toured together with Project Pitchfork. On 13 October 2006 the live double CD was released Golden Times in a limited edition of 3,000 pieces. Core of this album is a concert in the spring of 2006. The small concert presence in 2007 Unholy used for the recording of the album puppetry. On 4 August 2007, the band played at the Wacken Open Air
Appeared in 2008 under the title Unholy - A life in music, a 30 -minute documentary about the band, which was on 30 November 2008, the first broadcast on DMAX.
2010-2011: Great Freedom
On 19 February 2010, the new album was released in Great Freedom. This contains the first single is born to live. The album reached No. 1 on the German direct sales charts and became the biggest success of the project. So it sold far more than 1.52 million times. Unholy War in previous years, especially in the black scene a concept album now reached a wider range of customers. The Count sees himself still as part of the black scene, explains, however, his music is also intended for people outside of the scene.

On 1 October 2010 Unholy won the Federal Vision Song Contest 2010 with the song Under your flag.
2010 Unholy won the music award Bambi in the category Pop National.
The album was awarded the Echo 2011 Album of the Year. They also received the award in the categories group Rock / Alternative nationally and producer / in / enteam of the year.
In the centenary edition of the Ultimate Chart Show under the slogan Germany selects the No. 1 ( Original Air Date on December 9, 2011) landed the title Born to live on the second place.
2012-2013: City Lights
On 16 March 2012, the band released the album city lights. The album landed at number one on the album charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Already on 14 February 2012, the single was Just as you were previously released from the album. You made it to number 2 in the German Single Charts. Already on 30 March 2012 they released from the eponymous album's second single city lights. This they reached in the German singles chart top spot 31, June 30, 2012 launched the City Lights Open Air tour at Meppen. In November 2012, a winter edition of the album was released, from which the single Stark, which was re-recorded for the album, was released as a single. City lights then managed for a week to return to the top of the album charts.
In 2013 Unholy received the Golden Camera 2013 nationally in the category Best Music. Laudator was Helene Fischer, who had sung with the Count in the Helene Fischer Show a duet.
2014: ESC
