Unified Threat Management

Unified Threat Management ( UTM) is a term of Charles Kolodgy from International Data Corporation ( IDC) from the year 2004. When network security systems, a distinction between Spezialized Security Appliances ( SSA), which are designed for a specific task, and Unified Threat Management appliances ( UTMA ), which combine different safety tasks on a platform. The aim of the UTM is to obtain at a central point security for the entire network.
