Union of the Centre (historical)

The Unione di Centro ( UDC ) ( Centre Union ) was an Italian party of the center, which was established on 27 May 1993 by Raffaele Costa and Alfredo Biondi, along with other prominent members of the Partito Liberal Italiano.

In the parliamentary elections of 1994 it was part of the center-right coalitions Polo delle Libertà and Polo del Buon Governo and won four seats in the Camera dei Deputati and five senators.

In 1999, the UDC was transformed from a party in a political union with the name Unione di Centro Liberal to; the most important members are now part of Forza Italia.
