Union Solidarity and Development Party

The Union Solidarity and Development Party ( USDP, burmese ပြည်ထောင်စုကြံ့ခိုင်ရေးနှင့်ဖွံ့ဖြိုးရေးပါတီ) is the current ruling party, the Union of Myanmar. It is the successor to the government of Myanmar mass organization Union Solidarity and Development Association ( " Solidarity and Development Association of the Union" ).

The Solidarity and Development Party, which was registered by the Electoral Commission as a political party on 2 June 2010, is chaired by Myanmar's President Thein Sein and has its headquarters in Dekkhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw.

Ahead of the general election of 2010, the USDP members wooed by distributing low-interest loans in Central Myanmar and Rakhin state. She won in the election even 883 seats of a total of 1154 total seats, 259 of the 325 seats in the Amyotha Hluttaw, and 129 of the 168 seats in the Pyithu Hluttaw.
