Union Sportive Bressane

Union Sportive Bressane Pays de l' Ain is a rugby union club based in the French town of Bourg -en- Bresse in the Ain department. He is represented in the second highest league Pro D2 and plays its home games at the Stade Marcel- Verchère from.

History

In the early years, which was founded in 1902 U.S. Bressane was a multi-genre club, where the cycling section was initially the largest. Soon, however, the association specialized in rugby. In 1939 the club won the championship title of the second division and rose to, because of the Second World War, but no games could be played in the following three seasons. The U.S. Bressane could not compete with the best teams and then rose again from 1955. 1958 was the U.S. Bressane again the best team in the second division, three years later, following the re descent.

After the team in 1966 have been the best team in the second division for the third time, she was able to establish for a long time in the first division. In 1972 and 1983, she reached the second round of the championship in each case. Mid-1980s, followed by the relegation to the second, and finally in the third division (now the Fédérale 1). As runner-up of the amateur league Fédérale 1, the U.S. Bressane 2008 rose to the Pro D2, had to go to the 15th place in the following season, however, equal to descend again. 2013 managed to rise again.
