United Apostolic Church

The union of the Apostolic Communities (also: VAG, or English United Apostolic Church. ) Is a collective term for legally and financially independent apostolic communities. 1956 was established in Dusseldorf, the " Association of Apostles of Apostolic Churches". Member churches were built at different times and for different reasons as splinters of the New Apostolic Church. In later years, the communities, the apostles had come together, colloquially and in particular, often referred to by New Apostolic page with VAG. Even within the apostolic communities this term was used in the 1980s and 1990s, although it is factually incorrect. Because there was never a merger of municipalities or communities, but only by their church leaders. The acronym VAG called correctly today the " union of the Apostolic communities in Europe " since the non-European communities, doctrinally clearly.

Members

The VAG in Europe currently consists of the following four communities:

  • Apostolic Community ( Germany )
  • Gemeente van Apostolic Christenen (Netherlands)
  • Union of Apostoliques Chrétien (France)
  • United Apostolic Christians ( Switzerland )

The Reformed Apostolic Association of Municipalities was founded in 1921 closed in 1994 along with the Apostolic community. He was previously also for VAG.

Today's Apostolic Church of the Saarland belonged from 1956 to 1967 for the Apostolic Community and thus also to the association, as well as the - now defunct - Altapostolische community in Austria from 1987 to about 1995.

For the union of the Apostle of the apostolic churches next to the church leaders of the four European communities are still the Australian church with its associated mission churches as well as the South African church. Often these communities are also counted for VAG, but this is factually not quite right.

  • Apostolic Church of Queensland ( Australia) United Apostolic Church of India
  • Philippines United Apostolic Church
  • United Church Apostles Kenya
  • Unity Apostles Church New Zealand
  • United Apostolic Church Pakistan
  • Myanmar United Apostolic Church

The Igreja Evangelica Apostolica in Brazil as well as diaspora communities in Argentina and the U.S., which were supervised from Germany, are dissolved. Currently, some 80 municipalities in the Philippines are constructed of Australia and cared for. The Australian communities also have the United Apostolic Church of India taken over by the Europeans and build the new mission in India on and off. Also from Australia missions in Kenya, New Zealand, Pakistan, Myanmar and Canada are operated.

Teaching, offices and line

The four European and - until 2005 - the Indian part of the church are very closely linked in teaching and organizational issues together. Since January 2012, all European Communities applies a municipality and order of worship. The Apostles of Europe will meet three times a year for several years along with the bishops, to conferences. Now exist with the Australian and South African communities rather loose connections; there are differences in theological questions. Even now no longer belong to all European apostles of the International Federation.

Members of the international covenant apostles since the establishment 1956-2005

2003 summarized the Apostles of Europe the decision to ordain women, which was then first implemented in Germany in 2004. Meanwhile, in Germany there are numerous deacons and in the Netherlands and Germany also priestesses.
