United Counties of Leeds and Grenville
Leeds and Grenville United Counties is a county located in the southeast of the Canadian province of Ontario. The County Seat is Brockville. Its population is 99 306 (2006), the area of 3383.92 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 29.3 inhabitants per km ². The County is located along the St. Lawrence River in the Thousand Islands. It was created in 1850 by the merger of Leeds and Grenville counties that were by the city of Leeds in England and William Wyndham Grenville, the British Prime Minister from 1806 to 1807, named.
