United Nations Capital Development Fund

The United Nations Capital Development Fund ( UNCDF ) (English: United Nations Capital Development Fund) is a subsidiary organ of the United Nations. He works closely with UNDP.

The UNCDF was founded in 1966 by the UN General Assembly to make smaller, targeted capital investments in projects aimed at reducing poverty in the least developed countries of the world. The " micro-finance " refer to infrastructure, women's and children's projects, and the promotion of small industrial and agricultural equipment.

With its small annual budget of the current 40 million U.S. dollars they are far behind the possibilities of the World Bank Group.
