United Nations Office at Geneva

The United Nations Office at Geneva (French Office of Nations Treaty Series à Genève, English United Nations Office at Geneva, UNOG ) is adjacent to the New York UN headquarters, the second headquarters of the United Nations. The UNOG is located in the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

Compared to the New York headquarters, it has political power less weight, because the most powerful institutions of the UN system - the UN Security Council, UN Secretary General and the UN General Assembly - its headquarters in New York.

Geneva on the other hand, among other seat of the UN Human Rights Council and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. The UN treaty bodies are located in the UNOG.
