United Nations Security Council Resolution 124

By Resolution 124 of the UN Security Council of the United Nations Security Council decided on 7 March 1957 its 775th meeting unanimously approved the inclusion of the newly independent state of Ghana in the day before the UN. After the founding members of Egypt, Ethiopia and South Africa, Ghana became the first African country became a member of the World Organization by the onset of decolonization of Africa.

Eleven states participated in the vote: France, Great Britain, Republic of China, Soviet Union, United States as permanent members, Australia, Colombia, Cuba, Iraq, Philippines, Sweden as non -permanent members of the Panel.
