United Nations Security Council Resolution 1707

The Resolution 1707 of the UN Security Council is a resolution on the situation in Afghanistan, adopted unanimously on 12 September 2006 at its 5521st meeting of the United Nations Security Council. The resolution is a measure under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations. Subject of this resolution is to authorize the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF ) for a further twelve months. The resolution allows states that are involved in ISAF to take all necessary measures to fulfill its mandate and also calls for a strengthening of ISAF by Member States by money, material and other resources.
