United Nations Security Council Resolution 660

Resolution 660 of the UN Security Council of 2 August 1990 it was decided in response to the invasion of Iraqi forces in the neighboring country of Kuwait.

Resolution text

" The Security Council, deeply disturbed by the invasion of Kuwait by the armed forces of Iraq on 2 August 1990, Noting that with the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait there is a break of world peace and international security, Acting under Articles 39 and 40 of the Charter of the United Nations,

In the absence of Yemen this resolution was adopted unanimously. "
