United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners

The United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners is a prison hospital for inmates of U.S. federal prisons.

It is located in Springfield, Missouri at the intersection of West Sunshine Street (Missouri Route 413 ) and the Kansas Expressway (Missouri Route 1 ). The Medical Center is operated by the Ministry of Justice of the United States and managed for this by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. It is one of six hospitals that care for the Treatment of Prisoners of federal prisons.

History

The residents of Springfield joined the federal government from the country, so that they could build the prison. 1930, the Congress approved the construction of the prison. 1933 began the operation. 1941, 1944 and 1959, there were revolts of prisoners.

In the television series The Sopranos gangster John "Johnny Sack " Sacramoni is brought into the MCFP Springfield, where he died.
