Unity for Democracy and Justice

The unit for Democracy and Justice ( Amharic አንድነት ለዴሞክራሲና ለፍትህ ፓርቲ transcribed Andenet ledemocracy ena lefitih, english Unity for Democracy and Justice ), known under the name Andenet ( German for unit; acronym UDJ ) is currently the most influential non-parliamentary political opposition party in Ethiopia.

Development

The unit for Democracy and Justice was founded on 20 June 2008 to compete in the general Ethiopian elections on May 23, 2010. The chairman of the party is Birtukan Mideksa, the Secretary-General Andualem Aragie. The party base comes mostly from the environment of the parties that form the opposition Coalition for Unity and Democracy.
