Universities UK

Universities UK is an association of the UK universities. It originated in the 19th century from the Committee of Vice - Chancellors and Principals of the Universities of the United Kingdom ( CVCP ). At that time it was informal meeting between the Vice Chancellors of some British universities. In 1918 the first official meeting took place. At the time the organization consisted of 22 members. Since then, the number of participating schools is growing, not least by the reform of 1992, then got all polytechnics university status. Today is the goal of Universities UK, to support the work of universities and to represent their interests. Meanwhile, the organization has 128 members and has its headquarters in London.
