The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York ( also known as University at Buffalo or UB ) is a public university in Amherst and Buffalo in upstate New York. With 27.220 students, it is one of four core universities of the State University of New York system and a member of the Association of American Universities, an association of leading American research universities.

The college was founded in 1846 as a medical college and led until 1962 the name University of Buffalo. In the early 1960s, the University at Buffalo was included in the SUNY system.

The university has three campuses: North Campus in Amherst, South Campus on the outskirts and Downtown Campus in downtown Buffalo. On Most significant is the in the 1970s opened North Campus in Amherst.

Sports

The sports team of the University are the Buffalo Bulls. The University is a member of the Mid- American Conference.
