University of Applied Sciences Bingen

The Fachhochschule Bingen is a university of the state of Rhineland- Palatinate. It is the only university in Bingen am Rhein and the only one in the district Mainz- Bingen.

History

The Fachhochschule Bingen was founded in 1897 as a pilot Rhine by Hermann Hoepke. The good infrastructure and scenic location at the confluence of the Rhine and Nahe were decisive for the choice of location. Since then, students with a practical education in technical and scientific subjects is offered. The spectrum of the offer ranges from traditional engineering sciences to modern information and communication technology to a wide range of biologically - science courses. Dialogue and cooperation with enterprises, institutions and organizations of the region to ensure a strong practical element and the orientation of the teaching to the needs of industry and business.

Today there are two locations of FH:

  • City building: Rochus Allee 4, Bingen City
  • Campus: Berlinstr. 109, Bingen- Büdesheim
