University of California Press

The University of California Press (also known as UC Press) is one of the six largest university presses in the United States. As part of the University of California is the only case connected to a state university and located in the western United States.

The publishing house was founded in 1893 and is headquartered in Berkeley, California. He publishes currently over 200 books and holds around 4000 books in print. About a quarter of the authors are associated with the university.

The Journals Digital Publishing Division is responsible for the issuing of some 50 scientific journals. Since 2008, about the ornithological journal The Auk is published by UC Press. All journals and around 2000 books are also available online.

The revenue of the publishing mainly from the sale of books and magazines. The support of the University is rather low and took last continuously.
