The University of Delhi (Hindi: दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय, Dilli viśvavidyālay ) is a state university in Delhi in northern India. With more than 200,000 students, it is one of the largest universities in the world. The Delhi University is especially renowned for research and education in Indian classical music, the sciences, languages and economics. Chancellor of the University, the Indian Vice-President, Vice-Chancellor is Deepak Pantel.
History
The university was established in 1922 by the government of British India.
