University of Ioannina

The University of Ioannina (Greek: Πανεπιστήμιο Ιωαννίνων, panepistimio Ioanninon ) is a public university campus Greek on a modern 850 acre campus, 6 miles south of the northern Greek city of Ioannina. The campus also includes the monastery Dourouti from the 18th century.
Since 2001, the campus is home to the Biomedical Research Institute - Research Centre of the Greek FORTH.
The University is a member of the network of Balkan Universities ( Albania, Bosnia - Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro).
